In line with our mission to maximise local incomes, Amba's motto is “If it grows, turn it into a product!”.
We want to show local farmers that, rather than just selling raw produce to large processors,
they can dotheir own processing to create much higher value products.  As such, we grow and process 
a range of artisanal teas and coffees, jams and chutneys, and herbs and spices right on the farm.

Amba is most famous for its hand-made teas – we were the first estate in Sri Lanka
to start hand-rolling black and green teas, more in the style of China or Japan;

and our teas have been sold or served in many of the most famous shops and restaurants around the world
– from Fortnum & Mason and Claridge’s in London, to Harney’s in New York, Noma in Copenhagen,
Camellia Sinensis in Montreal, “bills” in Tokyo, and many others.  

We also process a range of spices and herbs, including cinnamon, lemongrass, cloves, pepper and more;
we wet-process and roast our own coffee and cascara; and we produce a range of jams and chutney,
which we supply to other boutique hotels and restaurants around Sri Lanka.

so if you cannot find a specific product locally, we are happy to ship products direct
to individual consumers around the world, as long as you are prepared to pay the shipping costs.

The shop is open from 10am to 4pm, every day except Sundays and Public Holidays.

Since we hand-make all our products using fresh local ingredients,
we only produce very small quantities, and availability varies according to the season. 
We often have a backlog of orders, so we recommend that customers order as far in advance as possible. 
For some products, we also set a Maximum Order Quantity – so that we have enough to go around for everyone!
